Avena con chocolate/ Chocolate oatmeal

Avena 1

Maca

Chocolate oatmeal

Oatmeal has become a staple at home for the past 4 years. In the beginning I only used it for my daughter´s baby food, but in time I have found new uses for it from cookies and croquettes to my oatmeal and banana pancakes.

My two munchkins love oatmeal and I try to always have some ready for breakfast or dinner. I have started to have in for breakfast because it is really filling, you can make many delicious combinations and it has a lot of benefits for my health.

This time, my munchkin asked if I could make oatmeal with chocolate and no cinnamon and so I did. I prepared it in less than 10 minutes, while her dad dressed her for school and for today’s rainy, cold day, it turned out to be a perfect breakfast before school. My munchkin was happy because mom pampered her with chocolate and I was content because she had a healthy, delicious breakfast. My daughter’s breakfast is always accompanied with fruit and today she asked for banana and mango.

As usual, I try to pack her meals with as many nutrients as I can, so I added white quinoa to the oatmeal and hemp hearts. I used cacao instead of cocoa and sweetened it with brown sugar and vanilla.

Hugs,

Maca
